In December, OptFORESTS will finalise preparations for launching a major new Stakeholder Survey to collect the knowledge, challenges and priorities of people who work with forests every day. Whether you deal with Forest Genetic Resources (FGR), Forest Reproductive Material (FRM) or the wider forest sector, your input is essential.
Take the survey and your responses will directly feed into upcoming workshops (Task 7.3 &T8.4), Nature based Solutions for FGR scenario work (Task 7.3) and policy analysis (Task 7.4).
Why participate?
By taking part, you will:
- Influence policy recommendations on how FGR and FRM should be conserved, managed and used.
- Ensure your country’s needs are visible in a project that spans Europe.
- Help co-design future Nature-Based Solutions for FGR grounded in your experience of real-world practices, not just theory.
- Make your challenges heard, from silviculture to seed supply and policy gaps.
- Contribute to long-term forest resilience, climate adaptation and biodiversity goals.
Three surveys, tailored to your expertise
Developed under OptFORESTS Task 7.2 by Luke and UNIPD, the Stakeholder Survey offers three dedicated questionnaires:
For FGR experts
For FRM experts
For the wider forest community
To ensure broad participation, the survey is available in English and eight additional languages: Italian, French, Slovenian, Romanian, Finnish, Danish, Spanish and Norwegian.
Participants will also gain exclusive early access to a short video on FGR and FRM.

Spread the word!
The survey will officially be launched in January 2026. Take the survey and have an exclusive preview of a short video about FGR and FRM. Use your chance to shape the tools, strategies and policy recommendations that will guide the future of European forest genetic resources and reproductive material.
